97 Lapu passers get P5K cash gift from Radaza

NINETY-seven board passers from Lapu-Lapu City received P5,000-cash incentive each for their hard work and diligence and for giving honor to the city.

City Mayor Paz Radaza personally distributed the cash incentive on Tuesday, Feb. 19, to deserving residents who passed the board exam held in late 2018.

This is the 9th batch of cash recipients since the practice was started by the City in 2017.

The purpose of the incentive was to recognize and honor Oponganons who showed their diligence and hard work especially that passing the board exam is not an easy feat, Radaza said.

She was hopeful the new “professionals” will use their profession in helping the community.

Of the 97 board passers, 67 are teachers, 8 marine engineers, 4 criminology professionals, 2 nurses and 2 pharmacists.

And one each for electronic technician, electrical engineer, physical therapist, interior designer, certified public accountant and civil engineer.

About 1,000 board passers were already given cash incentives by the City under a local ordinance that provides for the release of incentives from P5,000 to P100,000 depending if the board examinee is a “passer” or “topnotcher.”

Radaza said there is a regular fund in the City’s budget because “ongoing man ang atong board passers.” (From GCM of SuperBalita Cebu, VLA)
