IT IS almost time for the much awaited 72nd PAL Interclub Golf Tournament. I bet the big boys are getting excited. Fun! Fun! Fun!
This year, it will be held in Cebu. Four courses will be used during this big event. The seniors will be playing at Alta Vista Golf Club and Club Filipino. The regular men’s division will be held at Cebu Country Club and Mactan Island Golf Club.

Regular Men’s Division, March 6-9, 2019
There are some 200 teams participating in the golfest. Some of the players will be coming from the US, Canada, and the Middle East.
My thoughts. OMG. I can just imagine the scene inside their locker rooms. Cramped!
Davao will not be sending as many players as before. Maybe I am wrong. As you know, Davao City Golf Club is gone, but it will always be in our hearts. A lot of fond memories I have of that golf course. So sad.
One more golf course gone, but a new one has emerged. South Pacific. Maybe pretty soon they will be part of PAL Interclub as well. I have not seen the official list of teams yet on the official PAL Interclub website. I will update you soon.
I will change the mood for a little while. I would like to honor someone very special who happens to be one of the big names in organizing PAL Interclub when he was still working with Philippine Airlines.
Atty. Domingo Duerme is one of the super nicest people I have ever known. Such a kind, gentle, humble, loving person. Many of you know him, for sure. For those who do not know yet, Atty. Domingo ‘Domeng’ Duerme passed away in the early hours of February 18, 2019.
My heart is filled with sadness. He will be missed. Tito, may you rest in peace. My sincerest condolences to your family.
