THE highly anticipated fifth generation, All-New Subaru Forester was unveiled last Thursday, Feb. 21, during a VIP Launching at the Subaru Cebu Showroom in Bakilid, Mandaue City.
Released in the Philippines by authorized distributor Motor Image Pilipinas Inc. with Autocentral Cebu as the official dealer and service center in Cebu, the fully redesigned SUV comes with upgraded features for better driving performance.
‘’The All-New Forester is now bigger and better, both inside and out. This is the first Forester to incorporate all of Subaru’s four proprietary technologies, which means a safer, more comfortable and enjoyable driving experience for drivers and passengers,’’ said Glenn Tan, deputy chairman and managing director of Tan Chong International Ltd., which counts the Motor Image Group as a wholly owned subsidiary.
“We are thrilled to bring the new Forester to the Philippines, as the previous generations of Foresters have proven very popular here and is perfect or all the family. We are confident it will continue to be one of the most popular SUVs sold here,’’ Tan added.
Subaru’s business partners, VIP’s, prospective buyers, and media practitioners, whom Subaru sales manager Cebu Carla Kiamko welcomed during the launch, had the privilege of seeing the new Forester up close.
With Subaru’s proven track record, the re-engineered and redesigned Forester offers a wide range of upgraded features, such as Subaru’s Eyesight feature, an award-winning driver assist technology that gives the driver an extra pair of eyes on the road.
And with the Subaru Global Platform, the underlying platform that will underpin the next generation of Subaru vehicles, the Forester achieves excellent handling, ultimate comfort, and improved safety.
With many state-of-the-art features, the Forester has a horizontally opposed direct-injection boxer engine for outstanding power, a special X-Mode function that enables the car to function better on challenging road conditions, and active torque vectoring that allows drivers excellent control of the car.
The Forester is designed to distribute power to all wheels featuring its symmetrical all-wheel drive. It showcases a better steering response in corners, surefooted stability at high speeds or bad weather, and provides outstanding balance and traction on wet roads.
Apart from having spacious leg room for relief and comfort, the Forester is also equipped with a larger cargo area that is specially designed to make loading of huge items easier. For instance, the power rear gate opens with just a single switch.
The all-new Forester is also on display today and tomorrow, Feb. 24, at The Torque Lounge at the New Wing in Ayala Center Cebu.
