THE Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) bagged two titles at the Thirsty Football Festival at the Cebu City Sports Center last Feb. 22 and Feb. 23.
DBTC topped the Players 7 and 9 categories on Feb. 23, a day after its alumni team won the Mixed Open division.
DBTC Canlubang started the roll with a 1-0 win over the visiting San Carlos City Tigers via shootout in the Players 7 division with Matthew Empleyo earning the MVP title.
Canlubang blanked another favorite, the University of San Jose-Recoletos Balamban, 2-0, in the semifinals, while San Carlos beat DBTC Paranaque, 2-0, in the other semis match.

It was a similar story in the Players 9 as DBTC Oreno also beat USJ-R Balamban in the semis before taking the title with a 2-0 win over USIS-IS.
In the Mixed-Open division, DBTC Alumni beat Sore-Eyed Eagle, 1-0, in the semifinals before outlasting the visiting Tacloban FC, 1-0, in the finals. Princess Caparida was named the MVP.
In the Girls 15 division, Jelena Loren Soon towed Sheba FC to the title with a 2-0 win over Bright Academy.
Sheba FC went through an unbeaten run in the group stage, beating Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu twice and earning a draw with Herma FC twice.
In the Girls 17 division, the San Juan Lady booters took the crown over CSTR, 1-0, with Patricia Buencoseco earning the MVP.
The Thirsty Football Cup, Cebu’s biggest football festival, continuous on Feb. 24 with games in the Men’s Open division still at the CCSC. ML
