Davies, Condura top open trio bowlfest

DAVIES and Condura ASSFBI bets won the master bowler competition in their respective division of the 1st Knights of Columbus sponsored Open Trio Bowling Tournament 2010 at the New Top’s Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City.

The twice-to-beat Munching Guinson of Davies I, who topped the battle of the top 10 players in the premiere Class A category, defeated ESD Electronz/ASSFBI No.1 challenger Steve Ramos in the championship, 123-122, to grab the master’s plum, while Hernand Garciniego of Davies II snubbed K of C’s reliable Melot Alimon in the final showdown, 119-114, for the title in Bracket B.

Lea Javier of Condura bagged the women’s crown after decisioning On-Baciba pride Lars del Castillo in the championship, 106-103.

In earning the opportunity to face Guinson, Ramos sideswiped teammate Boy Tisoy Villanueva in the quarterfinals and followed it up with a swept over seeded No.2 Nonoy Gatila of Silverado/ASSFBI in his semi-final match in Bracket A.

Seeded No. 4 Alimon subdued Bago City Bowlers Association’s bet Gap Penafiel in his first assignment and ripped Erwin Mazarte of Mulo Car Aircon to earn a trip to the finals against the twice-to-beat Garciniego of Davies Team.

Del Castillo challenged Javier after beating Sylvia Del Rosario of Condura in the semis.

For her part, Del Rosario defeated Davies Fusion bet Susan Robles in the battle for the second runner-up slot.

Meanwhile, ESD Electronz/ASSFBI composed of Romulo “D’Gunner” Ramos, Boy Tisoy Villanueva, Steve Ramos and Pat Mendoza and Sharp Team represented by Rey “Spitfire” Bala-an, Matt Gaudite, Mandoy Hervias,

Edgar De Leon and Cano Gaudite will be beaten twice in Friday night’s championship in the team competition.

It will be Davies II of Romel Jover vs. Ric Abellar’s BACBA (Bracket B), and Davies I against Blue Diamond (Bracket A) in the curtain raiser at 6 p.m.

The winner between them tangles with Silverado/ASSFBI and K of C Candles for the right to face the top two teams.

Davies Fusion will beaten twice in the distaff side followed by Condura ASSFBI Ladies.
