THE police official in Misamis Oriental who was among those who charged Ploutus Coins founder Mark Steven Freeman has dared the latter to come out after a local court issued an arrest warrant.
Superintendent Henry Cay-as, head of the provincial internal affairs service in Misamis Oriental, said he welcomed the development of the case as his group waited for the issuance of the warrant of arrest since December 2018.
"We thank the prosecution office for their effort and for the court for releasing the warrant of arrest and to eventually, rule on our favor as thousands of people nationwide from all of walks of life were affected as a result of what he did," Cay-as said.
The Regional Trial Court, Branch 39 issued an arrest warrant against Freeman for large-scale swindling last February 12.
He was not allowed to post bail.
Cay-as and some other fellow policemen and teachers filed a case against Freeman after the latter failed to make good of his promise.
Freeman is the founder of Freedom Traders Club (FTC) that entices investors to put money in its virtual currency Ploutus Coins.
"I am now calling Mark Freeman to come out like a real man and face all of us. We all trusted his words and promises that he will return the investors money on September last year. We even gave him more time but he failed to deliver until he went offline," Cay-as said.
He said Freeman is still out of reach, even as he urged anyone who has knowledge of his whereabouts to report to authorities.
"He cannot be reached anymore either through his phone or his FB (Facebook) Messenger. I am also asking anyone who has knowledge as to where he is hiding now to please inform me or the nearest police or NBI office so that Mark Freeman will once and for all, face the investors and answer the big question, where did you put the investors' money," he said.
