THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Negros Occidental-North, through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (Carp), has installed a total of 109 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City on February 21.

With the assistance of the 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and Cadiz City Police Station, the agency installed ARBs in the landholdings previously owned by Bernadette Gustillo, among others.

It covers a total land area of 44.6447 hectares.

Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Jessan Saquian appealed to the ARBs to raise issues and concerns on land reforms to the authorized agency, which is the DAR.

“The installation is a proof that the agency is indeed implementing the program mandated by the government as measure to improve the lives of farmer-beneficiaries,” he added.

Chief Inspector Robert Mansueto, in his message, said their presence is a means of showing support to the implementation of government's program.

Mansueto called on the ARBs’ to help in monitoring the peace and order situation in their hacienda.

“For land processing problems, approach the DAR. For peace and order problems, approach us,” he told the farmer-beneficiaries.

Officer-In-Charge Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Jade Sollesta acknowledged the full support and cooperation of the different groups for the successful implementation of the program.

Sollesta said the DAR has wide range of support services available for ARBs.

“DAR Municipal Office is always open for your concerns and is glad to assist you,” she added.

Meanwhile, also present during the activity were DAR Provincial Adjudicator Sherif Rafael Camut, and city officials and staff. (EPN)
