Guv, Rotary Club sign deed of donation for human milk bank

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. and Rotary International District 3850 represented by Joe Jay Doctora have signed a deed of donation for the latter's donation of a human milk bank equipment at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

The signing was held at the Governor's Office at Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City Tuesday, February 26.

The human milk bank was established for collecting, screening, processing, storing and distributing donated human milk to meet the specific needs of individuals such as preterm babies, critically-ill neonates, and patients with immunodeficiency disease, feeding intolerance, allergies, inborn errors of metabolism who are admitted in hospitals.

The donated equipment is expected to dispense pasteurized human milk to indigent in-patients, victims of calamities, and other deserving beneficiaries.

It was also agreed that the Rotary Club will provide the necessary trainings of personnel in managing and handling the Human Milk Bank Center.

Present at the signing were the Rotary Club officers and members namely Renato Monfort Jr., Joel Jaranilla, Jay Alpas, Millie Lee, Emmanuel Salgado, and Raymund Macapitan, and Hospital Operations Department Head Dr. Leo Eusebio, among others. (PR)
