SOME fans are not happy with the set of judges that “Idol Philippines” has been rumored to have. Thus, they are not excited for the show’s launch.

When Regine Velasquez-Alcasid joined ABS-CBN last year, it was already announced that part of her contract would be judging for the international singing tilt’s local franchise. However, it was never known then who would be with her in the show. Apart, of course, from the news which divulged that the network has been eyeing Billy Crawford to host it.

On Tuesday, February 26, the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) received a photo of what seemed to be taken during a taping inside the studio. Accordingly, the sender hinted that the four celebrities in the picture compose the panel of judges of “Idol Philippines.”

In the said snap, Regine was with James Reid, Vice Ganda and Moira dela Torre. This report was later confirmed by TV Patrol on Tuesday night.

Seeing this line-up, some fans reacted... violently. While they did not say anything bad about the Asia’s Songbird, the other three drew some flak.

Reacting to the article, Cristy Esteban tagged the “It’s Showtime” host as “nakakasawa.” In short, she wants to see a different face on the judges’ chairs.

Meanwhile, LBT Confessions suggested for Jaya to be part of the show instead.

“Kahit Jaya man lang sana. Ano bang alam ng James Reid at Moira at Vice Ganda na yan? Kung James Reid na lang, sana si Daniel Padilla na lang nilagay nyo at linubos lubos nyo na ang pambababoy [sic],” the PEP follower wrote. “Expect kahalayan jokes na naman at nandyan ang kabayo. Nasa TV na nga from Sunday to Monday, dinagdagan nyo pa ng show. Yong iba nakatengga. As if naman napakasensible ng Vice Ganda na yan as a judge.”

For Cely Macaspac, it would have been better if the show will take in those who are veterans in the singing industry.

“Dapat kinuha nilang mga judges ay ung mga batikang singer composer o my alam sa totoong musika ..hindi ung singer singeran lng o baguhan pa lng sa industriya ng musika..Ano porket my pangalan o sikat na ngaun lng e pwde ng judge pagdating sa musika ..lokohan lng yan [sic],” she said.

The names of Jay-R, Kyla and KZ Tandingan came out as the judges they want to see.

In the meantime, Regine said in the report on the Kapamilya Network’s news program that she would not just settle being a judge. She wants to be a mentor to the aspiring professional singers. It can be recalled that the wife of Ogie Alcasid started her singing career when she won in the television singing program “Ang Bagong Kampeon” in 1984.
