THE new year calls for all things new, even when it comes to world of fashion. There are new trends that arise, and those that make a comeback. Either way, it’s always good to get a heads-up.

SM City Consolacion showed this year’s trends with its annual fashion show titled “Glimpse: Light Up The Night” last Jan. 27. The fashion show series is now on its seventh run. Sashaying down the runway, models were clad in a blend of black, white and colorful silhouettes, wearing pieces for casual days, corporate engagements and party nights when one just wants to have fun. Nineties-inspired fashion was very much displayed on the runway. Participating brands were The SM Store, South Shores, De Los Reyes Optical, Mags Closet Boutique and Surplus.

Lemuel Rosos’ LBD (little black dress) collection was also showcased during the show. The collection, called “Dark Mystery,” taps into Lemuel’s fascination with theatre, along with stories and costumes; ensembles perfect for evening parties.

Special guests who graced the show were Miss Consolacion 2018 Shara Angela Servande and her court: first runner-up Ciairha Jenyne Monsanto, second runner-up Rica Mae Pitogo, third runner-up Karla Marie Frances Niere and fourth runner-up Rikki Louisse Alivio.

“Fashion is not my niche but I have always been fond of recreating displays and making them look out of the ordinary,” shared Samuel C. Rottiers, SM City Consolacion’s marketing manager, about the inspiration behind the fashion show.

“Glimpse gets rid of the usual ramp and stage format and introduces our shoppers to what’s in, not just in terms of fashion but also in design. When asked about the entire production thatwent into it, ‘simple goes a long way.’”
