THE arts and design track students of Mandaue City School for the Arts (MCSFA) will hold an art exhibit at the Mandaue City Sports Complex on Friday, March 8.

The exhibit, called “World of our Own,” will feature works from 21 student-artists that showcase varied Filipino identities and diverse interpretations of the world.

Teachers Joanne Cutamora and Jean Claire Peruda said the annual event is part of the arts and design curriculum, which trains the senior high school students to exhibit their creativity using the skills they have learned during their apprenticeship period that focused on the arts, education, cultural values and work ethics.

Johnmark S. Rebato, one of the exhibitors, looks forward to the event as he had worked months to complete his artworks.

He shared that he had saved his allowances to buy art materials. His experience taught him the values of perseverance, time management and responsibility.

For her part, MCSFA principal Joyce Quizeo said she is excited for the art exhibit.

“The school is very proud of these young artists who uphold our vision and mission to create and inspire. I hope that through this art exhibit, they will inspire other young individuals to value art and our culture,” she said.

The exhibit will display about 50 artworks and is open to the public from 1 to 5 p.m.
