GROWING businesses in Davao City are encouraged to shift from manual to an automated payroll system as part of digital transformation.

Salarium sales head Jonathan Engalla said during a press briefing Thursday, February 28, that they developed a mobile application to help employers still doing the payroll system manually to shift to an automated system.

“We are here to enter Davao and become more prominent player here in your market to serve the growing businesses that are coming here in Davao,” Engalla said.

He said the administrative tasks, attendance monitoring, coordinating with employee needs, filing paperwork, and interviewing potential recruits are the most commonly known duties of a human resources (HR) professional.

“Except for the last one, a misstep can immediately equate to drawbacks from other departments. Imagine payroll being even a day late and those who are enduring petsa de peligro will immediately rally outside the department bunk,” he said.

The Salarium app has been used by majority of businesses and companies in Metro Manila for five years already. Engalla said this year, Salarium will enter Davao City to contribute to the growth of these businesses.

Meanwhile, one of the companies in the city served by Salarium assured that the features available in the application are all convenient and efficient.

Web Design Davao operations manager Marie Garcia said they have been using the system of Salarium for two years now.

“We also tried a different solution in the hope to find a payroll solution. That platform actually did not work well for us because we have experienced discrepancies,” Garcia said, adding that it was only Salarium that allowed their HR department to do other things than time and attendance, tabulating, calculating and encoding.

Engalla also assured that they have a tight security feature that would protect and back up every single data as well as conduct regular monitoring.
