FOR the health-conscious individuals, it is very important to only eat and drink those products that are truly nutritious. Thus, they prefer natural fruit juices over softdrinks and artificially flavored ones.
In Davao City, an entrepreneur takes pride of her products. According to her, the juices her enterprise produces do not only bear the natural taste of fruits, but are also packed with nutrients.
Gilda C. Flores of Shechem Marketing, maker of Belle’s Refreshing Juice, gladly shared her story of how she discovered the products that have captured the discriminating taste of some buyers.
“Since I am a vegetarian, I make my own juices. So, I thought of commercializing those when I and my husband decided to make new products for our business,” she said.
Gilda narrated that during the early part of 2015, they started with jams made of coconut, jackfruit, pineapple, pine-carrot and mango. However, they felt the need to produce a new product line. In December 2015, they finally began their juice business.
While they only started offering mango juice, the varieties expanded over time, especially with Gilda’s ingenuity and love for innovation. She started to experiment on new flavors. But, admittedly, it was never a smooth journey.
“First, I had to master the mango puree production. Then I tried making pineapple puree, until I was able to concoct different flavors,” she recalled.
Based on her story, perfecting the four seasons variety was a struggle. She had difficulty finding the right formula to achieve the most desirable taste of the said flavor.
“My discovery of the four seasons flavour was actually an accident. The mixing of mango and pineapple was what made us realize that adding two more flavors to it could create a delicious mix,” she said.
Her garden also grows blue ternate. Therefore, she currently has flavors that are added with it. This plant, which is also called Blue Butterfly Pea, is said to be rich in antioxidants. In short, aside from the vitamins that the fruits have, customers can likewise enjoy the health benefits of blue ternate.
At present, Belle’s Refreshing Juice is available in 10 flavors, which include the Blue Bell (blue ternate and buko), Butterfly Pea Lemonade (blue ternate and calamansi), Cucumber Lemonade, Four Seasons, Mango and Pineapple. The company supplies schools and company canteens in Davao City.
Personally, I highly recommend their juices. Everything has definitely passed my standards for natural fruit juices.
