TROPICAL Depression Betty (Wutip) has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) and no longer poses direct threat to any part of the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its advisory Friday morning, March 1, that the LPA's position was estimated at 1,380 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan as of 3 a.m.

The northeast monsoon, however, continues to affect the country, said Pagasa.

It said Cagayan Valley, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Caraga, as well as the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Temperature in Metro Cebu will range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius, while in Metro Manila, it will be from 22 to 31 degrees Celsius.

In Tuguegarao City, the temperature will be from 21 to 32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City, 13-24 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao, 25-33 degrees Celsius. (SunStar Philippines/PNA)
