THE document of the late Cebu Archbishop Teofilo Camomot's beatification process had been submitted to the "relatore," Msgr. Paul Pallath.

A "relatore" helps in finishing the “positio” or the documents needed in the process of declare the late archbishop as “venerable.”

Fr. Mhar Vincent Balili, vice postulator for the cause of Camomot's beatification, said the papers were endorsed last December 28.

The document, he said, are vital for declaring Camomot as "venerable."

On Sunday, March 3, Archdiocese of Cebu and devotees commemmorated the 105th birth anniversary of Camomot through a mass at the Daughters of Saint Teresa (DST) Motherhouse Chapel in Barangay Valladolid, Carcar City.

In his homily, Archbishop Jose Palma said Camomot reminded that the faithful should place God in their hearts to feel sympathy for the victims of unsolved murders.

“If God is in the heart, then we are people of peace. If God is in the heart, then we are people who proclaim that we are sisters and brothers to one another. If God is in the heart, then we feel sad for the killings and we feel sympathy for the drug addicts," he said.

In Camomot's beatification process, Balili said they submitted four chapters to Pallath-the analyses of testimonies of persons who have personal experiences with Camomot; analyses of the papers; Camomot's biography and the syntheses of the three chapters.

Balili said they collected testimonies from 45 persons, who talked about Camomot's kindness and devotion to the Church.

The Congregation for the Causes of Saints appointed Pallath in 2018 to help, guide and teach the postulator.

Balili said he has yet to receive a letter from Pallath.

He urged any person who got healed after asking for intercession from Camomot to write a report and submit it to DST Motherhouse.

Balili further urged the faithful to continue praying for Camomot to become a saint. (From SCG of Superbalita Cebu/KAL)
