Local food on display at City Hall

LOCAL food products from various groups in Cagayan de Oro City will be displayed at the Cagayan de Oro City Hall until March 31, as part of the celebration of Women's Month.

The Gender and Development Working Committee started the livelihood display on Monday, March 4 at the City Hall's Mini Park.

The Gad working committee, headed by City Accountant and lawyer Beda Joy Elot, tapped the Cagayan de Oro Grassroots Micro Entrepreneur, Agricultural Productivity Office, and Relocation Site Homeowners Associations to showcase their products.

This is their contribution to the celebration of the nationwide Women's Month celebration, with the theme: "We Make Change Work for Women."

City Councior Edna Dahino, in her message during the opening of the livelihood display on Monday, encouraged women to empower themselves through acquiring new skills, and enhancing their talents.

Other activities for the Women's Month celebration, organized by the City Government, include: Women's Summit on March 8; Photo Exhibit on March 11 to 31; Personality Development on March 18 to 22; Search for Exemplary Women 2019 on March 25; VAWC Orientation on four Relocation areas on March 25 to 29; and Youth Forums.
