2 Capitol employees positive of drug use resign

TWO Capitol employees who were tested positive for use of illegal drugs already resigned from their respective jobs.

Lawyer Annabel Palic, provincial human resource officer, said the two employees did not give and provide reasons why they resigned.

The two male employees are part of the 697 Capitol workers who were subjected to random drug test on October 1, 2018.

The drug tests were in compliance of Civil Service Circular No.13 series of 2017.

Under the guidelines, all government officials and employees should undergo mandatory drug tests once every two years.

The Provincial Government has more than 2,000 permanent employees and 813 casuals, with 800 based in offices in the Capitol area and the rest at provincial government-run hospitals and offices in various parts of Negros Occidental, Palic said.

Those who underwent the surprise drug tests were based in the Capitol area, she added.

The resignation of the two employees came after they were advised to undergo rehabilitation at their own personal expense.
