Fire hits Barangay Tejero

CEBU (Updated) -- A fire broke out in a residential area in Villagonzalo 1, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City on March 6, Wednesday.

Cebu City Fire Marshall Noel Nelson Ababon said the fire started in the house of a certain Christopher Cirijano.

The overheated appliance caused the fire.

"Iyang giangkon, ana siya naa siya sa ilang second floor, nya nag andar iyang AM/FM radio unya naa ray nikalit og boto," he said.

The fire incident was reported at 6:04 pm.

At 6:18 pm, the fire alarm was raised to third alarm.

By 6:52 p.m. the fire was declared under control.

Ababon added that the fire area being situated between two streets made the firefighters respond and control the fire immediately.

This is the third fire incident in the city since March 1.

Authorities are yet to identify the total damage cost in the incident.

There was no reported casualties as of this posting.
