Hearing on gun raps vs security agency reset

THE Regional Trial Court has reset the hearing on the motion for reconsideration submitted by a soldier and a security agency owner, who were charged with illegal possession of firearms.

The hearing set by Regional Trial Court Branch 14 Judge George Omelio was moved to February 26.

The accused Mussolini Lidasan, brother-in-law of Energy Undersecretary Zamzamin Ampatuan, and Sergeant Alberto Antesoda Duhig earlier posted a bail-bond of P80,000 each for their provisional liberty.

The case stemmed from a raid conducted by the Regional Intelligence Division, the Police Regional Office 11 Special Task Group Against Private Armed Groups, Talomo police on the security agency office at Eagle Street in GSIS Heights, Matina last January 21, through a search warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Isaac Robillo.

The search yielded 19 12 gauge shotgun, 24 .38 revolvers, two .45 pistol, one caliber .380 pistol, one M16 rifles, one M61 fragmentation grenade, one 15-inch baton sword, and more than 300 rounds of 5.56 rounds of ammunition. (RMH)
