Man who shot village official falls

POLICE have arrested the man who allegedly shot the village chief of Tong-Umus, Tabuan Lasa in Basilan.

Abdulwalid Saabdulla alias Walid, 29, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, in Plaza Pershing in downtown Zamboanga City.

Chief Inspector Elmer Solon, Police Station 11 chief, said Saabdulla has been tagged as the gunman who tried to kill Mahmor Amputo Ibrahim, 52, village chief of Tong-Umus.

The Isabela City police reported that Saabdulla allegedly shot Ibrahim while the victim was observing a fire incident around 9:45 p.m. Monday, March 4, in the Port Area, Isabela City.
