THE playoffs of the Cebu Youth Basketball League third conference kicks off this weekend, March 9 and 10 with the semifinal games in Division 1 of the Under-12, Under-15 and Under-18 age groups.
Unbeaten University of the Visayas (UV) takes on Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) 1 in the Under-15 semifinals on Saturday, March 9, at the SHS-AdC Mango Avenue Campus Gym. The other semifinals match between University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) and SHS-AdC 2 will be played at the USPF Gym.
UV has been on a tear, winning all of its games in the elimination round to top Group B. SHS-AdC 1 has lost twice and will be in for a tough semifinal match against its rival UV. On the other side, USPF has lost just once in five games, the same with SHS-AdC 2, which only lost to UV in the elimination round.
SHS-AdC is also playing in the semifinals on the same day in the Under-18 category against the winner of either Southwestern University (SWU)-Phinma or SCSIT. There will also be five other Division 2 playoff games on the same day.
On March 10, UV will lock horns with Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), while SHS-AdC will be up against Sisters of Mary Boystown in the Under-12 division at the SHS-AdC Gen. Maxilom Campus Gym.
UV has had a very impressive campaign, winning all its six games in the elimination round, while SHS-AdC has only a loss against five victories.
The other Under-18 game between DBTC and Cebu Province/SMS Boystown will also be played on the same day along with the Division semifinals in the Under-15 and Under-18 age groups. (EKA)
