MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo commended the Capitol headed by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda for prioritizing the potential developments in this city.

This was gleaned during the PhilHealth Alaga Ka roadshow here Wednesday, March 6, in front of 4,015 new members.

According to Garbo, since he spent most of his years in public service with the lady governor, he has learned to adopt the programs of the provincial government in Mabalacat City, which have benefitted Mabalaquenos in terms of health and educational assistance.

He said his main priority is the marginalized sector, as well as infrastructure like hospitals and schools.

Meanwhile, Governor Pineda announced the rehabilitation of the district hospital here and the completion of its facilities. She also added the additional construction of buildings for Mabalacat City College, as an increase in the number of students is seen in the next five years.

According to Garbo, P50 million has been allotted for the projects.

“Ilalagay na natin lahat dito (Mabalacat) para hindi niyo na kailangang lumayo kapag nagkakasakit kayo. At para rin sa mga Kabataan na gustong mag-aral, meron nang malapit (We will put these here in Mabalacat City so you will not have to go far when you get sick and also for the youth who want to study in a school that is near,” Governor Pineda furthered.

The lady governor reminded the attendees of the existence of Republic Act 10931, also known as free tuition policy.

“Ma-swerte rin kayo, si Pres. Duterte tinututukan niya ang Clark, lalo na yung development nito. Kayo ang unang makikinabang dyan (You are fortunate that President Duterte is focusing on Clark, especially developments here. You will be first to benefit from that),” she said.

For his part, Vice Governor Pineda thanked the national government for investing time, efforts and projects in Clark that will generate more jobs and profit for the province. (PR)
