Rookie Cordillera cops complete rigid training

A TOTAL of 159 police officers completed a four–month Basic Internal Security Operations Course (Bisoc) at the Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-Cor) to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge as they start their police service.

The Bisoc graduates will be deployed and assigned to Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) and to the different field units of Maneuver Force Company of PRO-Cor.

Police Brigadier General Rolando Nana, PRO-Cor regional director, said the graduates are trained in accordance with the demands of the counter-insurgency campaign in the region.

“They have to keep in mind that what they have learned in the training and I am confident that they are now ready to be utilized in operations against internal security threats,” Nana said.

The Regional and Provincial Mobil Force Brigades (RMFB and PMFB) serve as the maneuver forces of PRO-Cor, covering the provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Mt. Province and Kalinga.

The Bisoc Class Mabangis Alpha and Siglat Bravo underwent the training at Philex Dam in Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet for four months and completed the training requirements according to the Program of Instruction of Bisoc, Agos and Water Search and Rescue Training Course.

Patrolmen Johnny Langbis and Quintin Co Jr. were awarded the Medalya Ng Kasanayan for topping their class.

Langbis of Mabangis Alpha Company obtained an overall grade of 91.08 percent while Co of Siglat Bravo Company obtained an overall grade of 92 percent.

The Medalya ng Papuri were awarded to Patrolmen Rudy Billao and Jordan Taupiad for being the top 2, and to Patrolman Rhyan Jones Raguidin for being the top 3.

Langbis and Billao were awarded special mention of the regional director as top gun awardees. Nana ordered the immediate issuance of their short firearms.
