THE first forum for senatorial candidates will take place at the University of San Carlos (USC) main campus on March 11.

Grace Magalso Bualat of the USC said they expect the candidates to present their platforms of government.

“They should also be clear about their platforms of government mostly on development strategies like competitiveness, mobility ability, and of course in metropolitan management,” Bualat said.

She said they expect the candidates to be specific on problems that they want to address if they win the election.

Mega Cebu Director Evelyn Nacario Castro said the intention to conduct the forums is to give voters a chance to know how senatorial candidates will respond to problems that Cebu faces.

She said they will also showcase an application that the university is developing, which incorporates the mind marks of leaders the public will like to have. They will also incorporate all these aspects about Mega Cebu, she said.

“In short, this forum is a platform for voters to really know what a candidate stands for, what their plans are and how they respond to the context of Metro Cebu,” Castro said.

The forums, dubbed, “Klarohay Ta!,” will ask all 62 senatorial candidates about the following issues: traffic, flood, solid waste disposal and waste water treatment, among others.

There will also be a forum on March 15, 18, 25 and 27 at the same venue. (EOB)
