The wind beneath the wings of Nino ‘RS’ delos Reyes

RICARDO delos Reyes, also known as RS, Carding and Don Ricardo, is a son of the late spouses Isaac delos Reyes and Consolacion Salunga, originally from Barangay Sta. Ines, Mabalacat City.

Isaac was a long-time employee of R. D. Policarpio Company, a well-known contractor in Central Luzon, also based in Barangay Sta. Ines.

Carding was born to a family of modest means, so he did not have the luxury of finishing a college course. He compensated his lack of formal education with invaluable experience, specializing in electrical connections and supplies. He even worked overseas for a while to enrich his experience and curriculum vitae.

Venturing in a small-scale electrical business, Carding parlayed it to become a considerable player and made useful relationships with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines and Pelco II. He still maintains connections with these two firms.

RS delos Reyes Enterprises with business address in Barangay Sta. Ines is a leading electrical contracting company and is still gaining patronage and adherents as far as electrical supply and contracting are concerned.

Delos Reyes was once approached by men of Mayor Crisostomo C. Garbo to be one of the candidates for councilor. For a while, he demurred and politely refused the offer.

Then, in order to defuse the “tension,” he volunteered Nino ‘RS’ delos Reyes, his third son, to sub for him in the Council. The rest, as they say, is political history.

Today, Nino is bent on running for a council seat under the banner of Garbo. Carding, meanwhile, remains the supporter of his son, Nino, the strong wind beneath his wings.
