JASON Narido never thought that taking his son to his school would be the last thing he'll ever do.

Narido was shot to death by two unidentified men onboard a motorcycle outside a public elementary school in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City at 12:10 p.m. Friday, March 8.

Narido sustained several fatal gunshot wounds on his head and back.

Patrolman Ace Perdiguez of the Talisay City Police Station said Narido had just ushered his son to school and decided to buy some gulaman and fried tempura when two men onboard a motorcycle stopped in front of him.

Witnesses told police officers that the two men were wearing full-faced helmets.

Perdiguez said one of the two men, identified as the backrider, pulled a .45 caliber pistol and shot Narido several times until he fell to the ground.

Not contented, the gunman finished the job by shooting Narido while he was lying down.

The gunmen then sped off.

Emergency personnel of the Talisay Rescue and Emergency Assistance Team (Treat) said Narido died on the spot.

Police Staff Sergeant Glenn Besande, the investigator on the case, said they have yet to determine the motive behind Narido's murder.

Besande said they are also checking on Narido's background to determine if he has an existing criminal record.

As to Narido's son, Besande admitted they have not informed him that his father was dead.

"Wala nalang namo sultii. Kibaw na ang maestra niya pero wala lang sa namo sultii kay basin maapektado ang bata," Besande added. (JKV)
