SENATORIAL candidate Grace Poe boasted of the passage of a lower Social Security Service (SSS) premium contribution for the informal sector during her sortie at the Baguio City market following her La Union campaign.
Poe reiterated the importance of the measure which can be availed of by market vendors, public utility drivers and others as one of her primary accomplishments in her second term as senator.
“I am here to report to the people of Baguio City where I have spent a great deal of my childhood on my accomplishment in the Senate which is the passage of the SSS coverage for our countrymen particularly the informal sectors of society. Now that they are covered by the SSS, we are hoping that all the benefits coming for the SSS would prove beneficial to them,” Poe said.
Poe also bared her accomplishments like the various hearings conducted in the Senate which was centered on gaining the truth behind allegations and speculations of fraud by some government officials and their cohorts.
“I know that just like other people in the country, the residents of Baguio City have watched my performance in various senate hearings which have shown my being friendly to those who have done good, but is the number one enemy of those who have committed wrong doings in government,” Poe added.
Poe also reminisced her youth when she was always brought to the country’s Summer Capital to enjoy the weather during the summer and the filming of some her father’s movies in the city.
The senator said campaigning in the market is one of the best strategies where she can reach more voters.
Poe was accompanied by incumbent Congressman Marquez Go together with his partymates who were endorsed by the lady senator after her impromptu speech at the public market.
