Island Garden City of Samal 2019 sa Mega Tent, Freedom Park, Peñaplata, Marso 3, 2019.

Si Annika Steffi Garzon sa Brgy. Tagbaobo gikoronahang Bb. Island Garden City of Samal 2019, diin gihakot sab niya ang ubang awards, sama sa Most Eloquent, Best in Production Attire ug Bb. Aleng Entrep IGACOS 2019.

Ang dalaga gipangutana og “How can you help the local government unit of Island Garden City of Samal to protect and preserve the God-given blessings of your city?”

Winner sab kaayo og tubag niyang: “As a teacher by profession and as a candidate standing here tonight I can help the local government unit of our Island by raising awareness. Why? Because our island is a paradise itself, the land is a paradise itself. But what happens if the people don’t recognize how beautiful it is, (and) doesn’t know how to take good care of it. Nothing happens. The paradise is just a thing. Society is built by the people.

“And so my dearest Samaleños, I challenge you now, as what I’ve been saying all the time, you must do something today that your future self will thank you for. I will start in my Barangay to site Brgy. Tagbaobo is getting back or preserving back our fish sanctuary which is only one out of 7 sanctuaries in our city. And so I challenge you now not only in my Barangay but the whole Samaleños to start doing simple things, I know simple things will result to something bigger tomorrow.

“So, do not leave this place with the garbage and with that I pretty sure that you will be thanking yourself because 10 years ago, you have been done something good for our city and for yourself.”

Nahimo sab nga 1st runner-up si Axel Rose Abing sa T.IER One Communications sunod ni Aubrey May Villegas gikan sa Brgy. Peñaplata, Amie Jean Guadalquiber sa Brgy. San Isidro- Babak ug Eleonor Lavador sa Samal Island Multi-purpose Cooperative (SIMC). (Samal Island Information FB page)
