THE Cebu Parklane International Hotel recently fulfilled its corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, the Christmas Campaign 2018: Be the Star that Saves a Life.

It also hosted “Saulog (Revelry),” the first solo painting exhibit of former SunStar Cebu photojournalist Ruel Rosello last January.

A few Sto. Niño images of Josie Pereyra were also displayed at the hotel as part of its Sinulog celebration.

Last Feb. 20, Cebu Parklane International Hotel together with Rosello turned over the chemotherapy vials and check donations to the Cancer Warriors Foundation Inc., which is the beneficiary of the Christmas campaign and Saulog.

Be the Star that Saves a Life was a Christmas campaign created with a cause to raise awareness on childhood cancer and the painful journey that the child and their families go through day to day. The hotel’s star succulents were sold for P250 each, equivalent to one vial used for chemotherapy for a child battling cancer. Total proceeds in the form of chemotherapy vials were handed over during a visit in the foundation’s shelter, Balay Silungan.

Rosello also turned over a check donation to the foundation as part of his advocacy to help children in need. (S)
