MAKATI police arrested on Saturday, March 9, a street food vendor who allegedly harassed and catcalled the daughter-in-law of Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.
Conrado Bingco, 38, a fishball vendor, was charged with unjust vexation and threat. He is detained at the Makati police station.
Chief Inspector Gideon Ines of the Makati Police’s Criminal Investigation Division said Bianca Bersamin, wife of Lucas Bersamin Jr., was walking along Malugay Street, Barangay Bel-Air in Makati City at around 4 p.m. on Saturday when Bingco offered her fishballs.
When Bianca declined, Bingco allegedly harassed and resorted to catcalling, resulting in an argument.
The younger Bersamin came and defended his wife. But they said Bingco threatened that he had a knife, which prompted the justice’s son to report the incident and sought the assistance of the police. (Third Anne Peralta-Malonzo/SunStar Philippines)
