POLICE are looking into the involvement of three men in the alleged rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in Barangay Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City on Monday, March 11.

Police Colonel Limuel Obon, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO) director, told reporters that three men onboard motorcycles reportedly abducted Cristine Lee Silawan last Sunday, March 10, before they raped and murdered her.

Obon said that according to a witness, the men slashed Silawan's throat just before raping her.

Silawan's body was found on a vacant lot in Barangay Bankal without any clothing on her lower extremities. Her head was skinned to the bone.

Silawan's mother confirmed to police that the body found in Bankal was that of her daughter, based on her clothing.

The victim's mother said her daughter left their house at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 10, to serve mass at the Sacred Heart Parish in Barangay Pajac. Silawan was a mass collector. (FVQ/ Superbalita Cebu)
