GOVERNOR Lilia “Nanay” Pineda is eyeing the establishment of a new public hospital with complete equipment and facilities in this city to cater to the needs of indigent families and individuals needing medical and hospital assistance.
According to the lady governor, she’s already in talks with Mayor Edwin “EdSa” Santiago, the city council and members of the provincial board for the possibility of putting up a new public hospital here.
“I am now already coordinating with Mayor EdSa about the new public hospital to be established here at the City of San Fernando to augment and complement the medical and hospital services of the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBLMRH),” the governor said.
The JBLMRH is a Level III tertiary, teaching and training hospital with 250 authorized beds as mandated by Republic Act 6780.
The JBLMRH caters to the people of Central Luzon with the people of Pampanga as its primary catchment area and the nearby provinces of Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Tarlac, Zambales and Aurora as its secondary catchment areas.
Santiago, for his part, assured Fernandinos of the implementation of the said project in partnership with the provincial government.
Meanwhile, Governor Pineda also led the distribution of allowances to some PhilHealth beneficiaries at Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.
In the event, a total of 4,616 PhilHealth beneficiaries were present. At least 1,480 came from Rural Health Unit (RHU) 1, which covers the areas of Dolores, Juliana, Lourdes, Magliman, San Jose, San Juan, Sta. Teresa, Sto. Nino, and Sto. Rosario.
Some 734 beneficiaries were from RHU 2, which covers the areas of Baliti, Dela Paz Norte, Lara, Pulungbulu, Saguin, Sindalan, and Telabastagan.
Another 1,254 came from RHU 3, which covers the areas of Dela Paz, Pandaras, San Felipe, San Nicolas, San Pedro, and Sta Lucia.
A total of 1,148 were from RHU 4, which covers the areas of Alasas, Del Carmen, Del Rosario, Maimpis, Quebiawan, San Agustin, and San Isidro.
The governor told the PhilHealth beneficiaries that she will continue her public service as vice-governor, being unopposed in this coming May 2019 elections.
“Even though I am getting old, I still want to serve my kabalens as long as I can,” said Governor Pineda.
Also present in the event were Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Vice- Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, Councilor Reden Halili, and Third District Board Member Rosve Henson. (PR)
