THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Cebu recently conducted the Organic Farming Technology Training (OFTT) with 21 farmers in Barangay Cantumog, Carmen, northern Cebu.
Personnel of the Climate Resiliency Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) helped DAR Cebu in training the farmers.
The Carmen Municipal Agricultural Office (MAO), headed by MAO Timmy Tungal, also participated in the OFTT.
The farmers who graduated from the training are members of the Cantumog Farmers Association, a DAR-assisted group.
“This project is a multi-sectoral effort that aims to protect the environment and seeks to reduce poverty by creating sustainable livelihood and income-generating opportunities for the farmers,” said Antonio A. Del Socorro, the provincial agrarian reform program officer II of DAR Cebu.
The project manifested the tangible existence of DAR’s programs, projects and services for the farmers. It also reflected the true essence of the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program in the community.
In attendance during the culmination program were Del Socorro, Municipal Aagrarian Reform Program Officer William Dulcero and other government officials.
