Arroyo appoints 'cabalen' to career service board

GUAGUA -- President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has recently appointed Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Eastern Visayas Director Angelito Twaño as a member of the Career Executive Service Board (CESB).

Twaño, who hails from Guagua town, took his oath of office before President Arroyo last week in simple rites in Malacañang.

He is the first ever Kapampangan to be appointed to the CESB, which caters to all career services officers and is a parallel branch of the Civil Service Commission.

The appointment of Twaño to the board of directors of the CESB has a fixed six-year term.

Twaño is the father of Vice Mayor Anthony “Ton-Ton” Twaño of this town, who has been serving the DPWH for several years until his promotion as regional director during the Arroyo administration.

“It is truly a great honor to be appointed by the President to the CESB. I will do my best to perform my duties to the best of my ability to serve and look after the welfare of my fellow career service officers in government service, at the same time observing transparency and fairness in my duties and functions as member of the board,” Twaño said.
