WHAT is celebration without food?

This 82nd Araw ng Dabaw, the Panorama Summit Hotel is joining the fun of the festivity as it launches its two special dishes and merienda buffet treats.

Last March 11, Panorama Summit introduced to Dabawenyos its two Davao tribe-inspired dishes: Chicken Piaparan and Lyurot na Ito.

The hotel’s Sous Chef JR Pusod explained that he made some twists for the two recipes.

Chicken Piaparan is a Maranao dish that is cooked with coconut milk, turmeric and a special paste called Palapa. To make the dish more stand out, the chicken is taken out from the soup and then cooked with additional grated coconut.

While the Lyurot na Ito – a Mandaya dish – is also a special dish cooked in bamboo chambers. Its main ingredient is Hito or catfish which is also a favorite food of most Dabwenyos especially those living in the southern part of the city. The dish is made more delectable because of its coconut milk ingredient.

All the dishes are good for three to four persons sold at P280 and P300, respectively.

Merienda buffet

Hungry in the middle of the afternoon? The hotel also prepares its Merienda Buffet at New Orleans Café available from 2 p.m 5 p.m.

Customers can choose or eat all they can from a variety of Filipino favourite snacks like palitaw, biko, turon, sapin-sapin, camote cue, and a freshly-prepared pasta.

To complete the merienda session, a hot chocolate or sikwate is also prepared on the buffet area which are made from Davao cacao.

The hotel’s Food and Beverage manager Rowena S. Garay said all these offerings are made just for the Araw ng Davao celebration and is only available until March 16, 2019.

So, complete your Araw ng Davao experience here at Panorama Summit Hotel. It is located along Kilometer 7, Tigatto Road, Buhangin, Davao City.
