I WAS wide-eyed amazed at the recent opening of the Sunnies Cebu mega store in SM City Cebu. Of the four Sunnies brands—Sunnies, Specs, Face and the café—guess which one had a queue of Cebuanas patiently but excitedly waiting to get in?
Only a certain number of customers were allowed at any given time so as not to overcrowd the store. The line for Sunnies Face reached all the way to The Northwing atrium. It’s hard not to be excited to get in. I mean, just look at it:
Sunnies Face’s pioneering product came from the number one question we’d ask about another girl’s makeup: “What lipstick is she wearing?” Sunnies definitely made a good move starting the beauty line with lipstick, as Pinays are completely obsessed with lip products.
Those who participated in the social media game during the store opening got to win exciting prizes, and I don’t mean ho-hum little giveaways: I’m talking a Sunnies Specs case with a pair of glasses inside, Sunnies sunglasses with a signature pouch, and a full size Fluffmatte lipstick. I chose the color Major, a perfect red that will add a gorgeous pop of color on any skin tone. The formula is extremely pigmented yet easy to apply, and smooth yet long-wearing. It’s also cruelty-free and paraben-free. I am officially obsessed and need another color.
Sunnies Face keeps its product line simple, focusing on only two other features: brows and complexion. Kilay (eyebrow) is still life, so the Lifebrow skinny pencil and grooming gel come in ash brown or warm brown.
Glowboss is a cream-to-powder shimmer stick that can be worn as highlighter and eyeshadow, and comes in a pearly champagne, a gold-flecked peachy coral and a golden bronze.
Aside from being shoppable online, Sunnies Face can now be found in physical stores in Ayala Center Cebu and in the Sunnies Cebu mega store in The Northwing of SM City Cebu. Drop by the mall so that you can swatch the testers to your heart’s content and see how all the colors look on you before deciding what to buy.
