Lawmaker urges San Luis folk to unite behind Delta

SAN LUIS -- Pampanga Fourth District Congressman Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc urged townsfolk here who attended Thursday’s distribution of PhilHealth’s Members Data Record (MDR) to unite behind the candidacy of Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda for the gubernatorial post this coming May 13 midterm elections.

Incumbent three-term Mayor Venancio “Asyong” Macapagal who is running for municipal councilor also said they are committed to fully support the vice-governor for his gubernatorial run including Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda who is set to finish her third and last term on June 30, this year.

“Vice guv, we are all in front of you as a united San Luis. We are 100 percent in supporting your candidacy. We hope that you will not forget the support of the people of San Luis,” the congressman told the vice-governor in front of the town’s people.

Bondoc said the people of San Luis are grateful to the Pinedas for their enormous contribution to the development of the town led by Governor Pineda and Vice-Governor Pineda.

The congressman reiterated that supporting the younger Pineda is a way of giving back to the Pinedas for the all-out care they gave to the town since they assumed office in the past nine years.

“Since 2010, we are included in the plans of the vice-governor. One thing I ask of you is not to forget the Pineda family because they did not forget us,” Bondoc explained.

Bondoc even showed his deep appreciation for the vice governor's efforts in visiting the town amidst the latter’s busy schedule.

In response, Vice Governor Pineda vowed to Bondoc and the other officials that he will continue to give full support to the programs and projects of San Luis should he win as governor of the province.

Meanwhile, the vice governor led the distribution of MDRs to some PhilHealth beneficiaries in the town.

A total of 3,392 beneficiaries were given PhilHealth MDRs at Dr. Emigdio Bondoc Convention Center.

Others who joined the vice governor, congressman and mayor were Fourth District board members Pol Balingit and Nelson Calara, Third District Board Member Rosve Henson, mayoralty bets Vice-Mayor Junior Salas and former mayor now Councilor Jay Sagum, members of the municipal council and other local candidates.
