UM’s food for thought

UM’s food for thought

INSTEAD of taking a nap after an exhausting encounter with the test booklets, we prefer to look for a food hub to fill our empty stomach (or brain), don’t we?

After a draining mental battle with our scheduled examinations, instead of venting how stressful it is, we first feed the beast inside us to regain the energy we lost.

University of Mindanao (UM) has a lot of things to offer - from high quality education, state-of-the-art facilities, and these mouthwatering food meals and refreshments. But here’s the catch: UM Food Court provides various dishes and delicacies that are savory yet affordable.

Burger

Want to chill while waiting for your next class schedules? UM Food Court is the most ideal haven you could ever ask for.

Burgers complete with scrambled egg, cheese, ham, and patty will surely satisfy your hunger. Not bad for a P25 to P30 burger.

Palabok/Pancit Luglug

With its mixture of rice noodles, spices, and thick golden sauce in one serving, palabok is more than enough to please your craving. Its mouth-watering savour makes it the best to crave for when you just want to stress-out after a long day in school.

Iced coffee

Drowsy from long hours of lectures? Perhaps, a little caffeine would help. UM’s Food Court also offer cold, creamy, iced coffee to wake you up and get you going for another session of tedious classes. You’ll ace those quizzes after being stirred up by the smell and the taste of this iced coffee.

Arroz caldo

The early quarter of 2019 greeted us with cold breeze and rain. What is more warming than an appetizing bowl of the traditional rice porridge or what we all know as arroz caldo? Paired with boiled egg and spices, this simple meal will leave you satisfied and full.

Price: P20.00

For cheap prices, one’s appetite will be filled to the brim. No more draining mental battle with examinations and textbooks, all’s left is an appeased belly. University of Mindanao is more than just topnotchers; it’s also about top-notch food. Good food fuels great minds. (April Grace Asgapo and Shaira Mae Panilag, UM interns)
