A MAN died while five others were injured, including a minor, in a road accident along the national highway in Barangay Recreo, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental Monday night, March 11.
The fatality was identified as Camillo Canillas, 65, of Fortune Town, Bacolod City, while injured were Joel Vicente, 40, of Talisay City; Melbert John Canillas, 35, Geli Canillas, 35, Ronan Sherwin Sebal, and a 10-year-old boy, all residents of Bacolod City.
Police investigation showed that at 8:55 p.m., Vicente was driving his Ford Ranger vehicle going north when he crashed into the Ford Focus vehicle driven by Canillas.
Due to the impact of the collision, both drivers and their passengers sustained injuries and were brought to the Valladolid District Hospital.
Canillas did not survive.
The Pontevedra Municipal Police Station is still investigating the incident. (MAP)
