CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga -- Police shot to death a suspected drug pusher during a shootout which transpired in Barangay Malabanias on Tuesday, March 12.
A team of policemen conducted an entrapment operation against the suspect Bernabe Patawaran of Barangay Balibago, Angeles City who died instantly after being hit during the encounter.
Senior Superintendent Narvin Mangune, Angeles City police acting city director, said operatives of Police Station 4 conducted the anti-drug operation who was also suspected of selling a 38 revolver hand gun for only P5,000.
The police official said one of the operatives handed P1,000 marked money to the suspect who eventually sensed that he was dealing with lawmen.
The suspect allegedly used the gun and shot one of the operatives, Mangune said.
The policeman retaliated and the suspect was hit in several parts of his body and died on the spot.
Policemen recovered the gun with three bullets and five sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
Mangune said the suspect is on drug watch list. (Ric Sapnu)
