Philippine Army shows talent behind snappy stance

THE Philippine Army (PA) Mechanized Infantry Division (MID) stationed in Camp O’Donnel in Capas, Tarlac celebrated the 22nd founding anniversary of the Philippine Army Information Caravan at SM City Tarlac.

The objective of the said caravan last March 8 is to promote the unit’s Mechanized Infantry Division while showcasing the activities and accomplishments of the army and their capabilities to static displays.

This year, a band composed of PA soldiers sang and jammed with customers, SM employees and even the media who joined the said celebration.

The PA conducts regular immersions in schools, local government units and the private sector. It can be remembered that last year, they had an exhibit at SM City Tarlac where the photographs of the actual operations of Mechanized Infantry and their house-to-house clearing during the Marawi Crisis were displayed. The tanks used during the crisis were also parked in front of the mall.

Those who are interested to become a part of the Philippine Army should meet the necessary qualifications and complete the needed requirements.

Qualifications are male or female natural born citizen of the Republic of the Philippines; single, never been married and no legal obligation to support a child/children; height of at least 152.4 cm or 5 ft. for both female and male; height waiver is no longer issued by the Command; and, of good moral character.

Initial requirements include valid identification card, 2pcs (2x2) ID pictures in white background, original NSO/PSA Birth Certificate, original college diploma and original transcript of records.
