Sharks crash out after Game 2 loss

THE Cebu City Sharks’ campaign in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League is over after they lost to the Davao Occidental Tigers, 76-69, in Game 2 of their first round series at the Lagao Gym in Gen. Santos City last Saturday, March 16.

The Tigers won the short series, 2-0, and will advance to the second round.

Emman Calo, a product of the University of the Visayas Green Lancers, led the Tigers with 27 points. Former PBA player Mark Yee added 14 points and an impressive 19 rebounds for the Tigers.

The Sharks of Titing Manalili had a chance to win the game as they were ahead, 58-46, with 1:06 left in the third period.

However, the Tigers slowly chipped away the lead until they got the driver’s seat in the fourth period to complete the sweep.
