NEWLY installed Police Regional Office (PRO)-Cordillera Director Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson has vowed to remove the stigma and transform Abra into a peaceful and safe province during the conduct of the May 2019 midterm elections.

Dickson reiterated this in his message during his assumption of command as Cordillera’s top cop following the retirement of Police Brigadier General Rolando Nana on March 15.

Dickson added under his leadership, the regional office would continue and relentlessly support the president’s war on illegal drugs.

“Aside from the continuing war on illegal drugs, we will also continue to instill discipline at PRO-Cordillera. Scalawags within the regional command will not be tolerated under our term to which we remind everyone to maintain transparency and accountability of personnel,” Dickson stated.

During the retirement honors at Camp Major Bado Dangwa in La Trinidad, Benguet, Nana asked members of PRO-Cordillera to make this changing of the guards as a continuity of what the regional command has achieved during his term.

“Let us consider this day as a benchmark for Police Regional Office - Cordillera. I believe that PRO-Cordillera will continue to grow and fulfill its mandates through the new leadership. Keep up the good work, you’ve been a wonderful team to work with,” he added.

Nana was awarded the “Medalya Ng Paglilingkod" for his dedicated service and having completed 37 years, 11 months and 14 days of services to the Philippine National Police (PNP) from April 1,1981 to March 15, 2019.

A "Medalya ng Pambihirang Paglilingkod" was also awarded to Nana for rendering service for PRO-Cordillera.

During his stint, he implemented policing strategies to strengthen the operational capability of PRO-Cordillera in pursuit of the PNP’s organizational thrust to serve and protect.

A plaque of appreciation was also presented to Nana for his invaluable service to the PNP. The same citation was given to his spouse, Arlene Nana, for her unselfish and faithful devotion to support her husband.

Nana personally thanked all the men and women of PRO-Cordillera who supported his leadership, aside from expressing his gratitude to PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde for allowing him to work with the good police officers of PRO-Cordillera before retiring.

During his stint as Cordillera’s top cop, Nana and the regional police office was able to realize a decrease in the crime rate in line with Albayalde’s directives to curb criminality, corruption and illegal drugs.
