MIXED Martial Arts (MMA) legend and current ONE Championship vice president Rich Franklin will be in Cebu City this week to shoot his MMA reality show, "Rich Franklin's ONE Warrior Series (OWS)."
Franklin and his crew will visit the famed Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu Gym of Master Benigno "Ekin" Caniga to film promising Cebuano MMA fighter Allan Albindo.
Albindo, a product of Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu, earned a contract to fight in the OWS, which is ONE Championships' developmental league.
If impressive in his upcoming fights in the league, Albindo will get a chance to earn a $100,000 fight contract with ONE Championship.
Albindo, a native of Argao, is unbeaten in both MMA and muay thai.
Franklin will also kick off Cebu City's MMA Grassroots Program on Sunday, March 22, at the Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu Gym.
He will be teaching the kids his vast knowledge in the sport of MMA.
The 44-year-old Franklin is a former UFC middleweight champion with a 29-7 record.
He has fought some of the best in his generation - the likes of Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Vitor Belfort, Lyoto Machida, Forrest Griffin, Dan Henderson and Ken Shamrock. (EKA)
