WE HAD a very cordial dinner with Cebu Pacific at No. 9, a cozy dining resto on Benedicto St., Cebu City. It was a respite for Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog, and Cebgo president and chief executive officer Xander Lao—with their staff—from the series of seminars held in Cebu as appreciation of the 23 years of travel services with Cebu as a lead destination. We also learned about the new routes that will allow more travelers to explore new destinations, particularly in Asia like Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, China and Korea.
Celebrations
Emmanuel Espina, editor of Mabuhay Cebu magazine, celebrated his birthday with family and friends. It was also a commemoration of his only daughter’s (Ria Lidia Espina), election as president of IBP Cebu Province.
Rose Awardees 2019
Part of the celebration of International Women’s Day last March 8 was the “Rose Awards” conferred by Zonta Club Cebu 1 on Zontians Tina Ebrada, Zelia Borromeo, Rufina Tanchan, Pauleen Deduque and Matt Baguia for their enduring services to the club’s advocacies. Three guest speakers were invited: Amy Miss Hefti, a psychologist based in Switzerland; Raquel T. Choa, Cebu’s Chocolate Queen; and yoga expert Ilumin Pimentel. The discussion focused on how women could be creative and excel in their skills. Attitude and behavior should balance with physical and cognitive development, nurtured from home, school and at work.
