Binay dares government to file charges vs narco-politicians

SENATOR Nancy Binay dared the government to file appropriate charges against the so-called narco-politicians, especially those who were already named by President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Our call is to file cases already because this is the proper procedure so that those who are on the list will have the proper venue to answer the allegation against them,” Binay said in a radio interview Tuesday, March 19.

She pointed out that if no charges would be filed against those narco-politicians, naming them would only become a mere publicity against them.

“At least justice would be served against those who will be proven guilty,” Binay emphasized.

About the looming water crisis due to the weak El Niño phenomenon, Binay said that the country is blessed with abundance of water, and it is ironic that many Filipinos are being deprived of access to water.

Binay said that water shortage is happening in several parts of the country based on reports by the concerned government agencies and concessionaires.

“But I’m sorry to say, their statements do not hold water,” Binay said.

The public is aghast at the response to the current crisis, and no explanation can wash the apparent neglect and inefficiency of those who have committed to provide people with clean water, the senator continued.

“We reiterate our call to have a clear policy on maintaining water security whenever water supply goes bad. Water is a basic need and it is unacceptable that we are depriving our people of basic services they deserve,” Binay added. (TDE)
