5 things to consider in choosing a wedding venue

THE search for “the one” is a done deal, but there’s more to it than the exchange of vows and sealing it with a kiss.

Planning a wedding requires listing down all that is needed for that special day, one of which is the wedding reception venue. This is the place where couples and guests gather to celebrate your union as a couple.

Here are some tips to finding the perfect venue that will greatly define your wedding day.

Take note of the guest list

It’s always good to be thorough to avoid any headaches along the way; knowing the number of guests helps figure out the size of the venue to search for.

In fact it would be better if guests were encouraged to RSVP as early as a month prior to the event just to allow enough time to get a final head count.

Location is key

Choosing the perfect reception place is also about accessibility. A ground-level event venue might be an ideal place for wedding receptions making it a win-win for you, your guests, and your wedding suppliers.

Another key factor in choosing an event venue is ample parking space. You wouldn’t want your guests to be late for the party just because they’re stuck without a space to park.

Always think about the budget

Wedding planning requires a lot of weighing things when prioritizing your budget. Apart from the wedding reception venue there’s the catering, decorations, wedding and entourage dresses and suits, photo-video documentation, and more. Always inquire if the venue itself comes with a wedding package that fits the whole aesthetic.

Choose a Venue that Aligns with Your Vision

Inspiration is hardly in short supply with the Internet within reach (Pinterest anyone?), along with the comments and suggestions given by relatives and friends who have had their share of walking down the aisle. Is the plan to go all out? Or is going low-key more the speed? Therein lies the fun and challenging part of choosing the perfect place. The trick is to narrow down the search and your guest list to find that one ideal wedding reception venue that speaks most to you as a couple.

Ask the experts

Planning a wedding is tough enough as it is, which is why it’s always handy to have a team of experts in one’s arsenal. Bridal fairs make for convenient affairs where couples get to be surrounded by creative talents of the wedding industry, all in one space.

Hoping to inspire couples for their special day, Oakridge Business Park will host its first ever bridal fair dubbed “Bride Box 2019” this March 22 and 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Oakridge Pavilion, one of Oakridge Business Park’s premier event venues designed for functionality made ready to be spruced up in different ways for different occasions.

Open to the public, the two-day event is meant to inspire future brides to “unbox their wedding potentials” from select wedding planners, decor suppliers, cakes and catering suppliers, fashion designers, hair and make-up artists, photographers and videographers, and stationery and giveaway suppliers.

Apart from simplifying the giant feat of wedding planning, the Oakridge Bride Box will also feature a bridal fashion show on March 23, 2019 at 5 pm from Cebu’s top fashion designers, including musical performances from various wedding bands and string performers. To provide a kick of inspiration for every bride to achieve that sought-after “wedding glow,” there will be hair and make-up demonstrations on March 22.

In addition, exciting prizes, discounts and giveaways await those who will book their weddings on those days.

While the search for that ideal wedding venue continues, what is most important for brides-and-grooms-to-be is that the whole wedding feels authentic and to choose a design and space that well represents them. (Sponsored Content)
