Clark is Central Luzon’s top source of export on electronics

CLARK Freeport was recently cited as the main source of export on electronics manufacturing in Central Luzon.

This, as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported that the presence of the various electronics manufacturing corporation in the Freeport has contributed in making electronics industry the top performing export in the region.

In the report released through the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) regional office, DTI regional director Judith Angeles said that this Freeport exports made by electronic companies here have made significant growth in Pampanga’s export. Due to this, the province was able to generate an export of US$4.915 billion worth of goods or 60 percent of the total export volume of Central Luzon.

“Pampanga remained the top source of exports for Central Luzon due to the presence of electronics manufacturing companies in the Clark Freeport Zone,” Angeles added.

Meanwhile, locator companies in this Freeport were also listed as top exporter of Central Luzon in 2018. These include the SFA Semiconductor Philippines, L & T International Group Philippines, Texas Instruments, Nanox Philippnes, Yokohama Tire and Philippines, Inc., SMK Industries, Inc. HLD Clark Steel Pipe Co. Inc., among others.

DTI was able to come up with the list of top exporters through the collected data and records from the One Stop Shop Export Declaration Centers, Clark Development Corporation, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, Luisita Industrial Park Corporation, and the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan, in the report issued to PIA 3 by Angeles.
