PAMPANGA Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda vowed to 646 Grade 12 learners of Macabebe town that they will be the “priority scholars” of the provincial government once they continue their studies to college.

He bared this during the recent distribution of educational financial assistance here, amounting to P1.6 million.

“As a parent, I know how hard it is to send your sons and daughters to school, especially when you have nothing,” he added.

According to the vice-governor, now that the free tuition fee has been implemented, students should grab the opportunity to finish their studies.

“You can expect from me, the Capitol, Congressman [Juan Pablo] ‘Rimpy’ Bondoc and from your local government unit (LGU) led by Mayor Annette Balgan, that our hands will guide you until you reach your dreams,” he furthered.

Meanwhile, Bondoc reminisced his school days with the scholars.

“As I see youth reaching for their dreams, and following their passion, it is like I’m also in their position. They are happy, and I’m happier,” the congressman said.

For her part, Balgan thanked the provincial government led by Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Pineda for continuously supporting the youth of Macabebe.

She reminded the scholars that the LGU will lend a helping hand to them, especially in their educational needs.

“For sure, all educational programs of the municipality will bring you one step closer to reach your goals in life,” she told the students.

As the program ended, Vice Governor Pineda reminded the beneficiaries to always focus on their studies, as this is the key to a successful life and to give back to their parents and to the community.

Meanwhile, assisting the vice-governor in the educational assistance distribution were fourth district board members Pol Balingit and Nelson Calara, third district board members Anianas Canlas, Jr. and Rosve Henson, Macabebe Association of Barangay Captains President Edgar “Gang” Flores, other members of the municipal council, Provincial Library Head Bessie Makabali, provincial treasurer and Department of Education staff.
