Police capture 3 robbery suspects

POLICE authorities arrested three motorcycle-riding suspects who were responsible for the series of robbery incidents in Cagayan de Oro City, during a police operation Wednesday, March 20.

Arrested were Benjack Ebarat, 19, and Agustin Epanis, 20, both residents of Culrai, Macabalan; and Christopher Muit, 18, of Zone 8, Bulua, this city.

However, a fourth person, which is their companion identified as Prince Klyde Lago was able to evade arrest.

Operatives of Police Station 1 launched a hot pursuit operation after series of snatching and robbery incidents were recorded in Divisoria area.

“Dunay laing biktima nga babaye diha sa may Cruz-Taal busa naghimo kita og hot pursuit operation,” Police station 1 commander Senior Inspector Rogie Ortencio said.

(They have another victim, a female, that took place somewhere in Cruz-Taal that is why we made a hot pursuit operation.)

“Positively identified pud ni sila sa ubang biktima sa robbery sa ubang police station (they are also positively identified by other victims in different police stations),” he added.

Ortencio said following the reports on robbery incidents within their area of responsibility, operatives followed the suspects leading to their arrest.

He added that the modus operandi of the suspects is to change the color of their motorcycle after completing their illegal activities.

Suspects are now detained and will face robbery charges.
